Plumbing questions, answered

Are you open right now?

Yes. Our dispatch line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. If you are searching for a plumber open now, calling (888) 809-6756 is faster than any form.

How fast can a plumber get to me?

For emergencies - active leaks, sewer backups, no water, burst pipes - we aim to be on site within the same few hours. Scheduled work is usually the same day or the next morning.

How much does a plumber cost?

We quote the job rather than the hour, and you approve a fixed number before any tool comes out of the van. Our guide to what a plumber costs in Connecticut breaks down typical ranges by job type.

Do you charge more at night or on weekends?

There is an after-hours rate for genuine overnight and holiday emergencies, and we tell you what it is on the phone before dispatching. It is never added afterwards.

Do you offer same-day plumbing?

Most days. Our trucks carry the parts behind the majority of repairs - flappers, fill valves, cartridges, elements, thermostats, angle stops and common fittings - so a large share of calls finish on the first visit.

What counts as a plumbing emergency?

A burst pipe, an active leak you cannot stop, sewage backing up, no water at all, a ruptured water heater, an overflowing toilet, or a smell of gas. If you are unsure, call - we would rather talk you through a five-minute fix.

What should I do while I wait?

Shut the water off at the fixture stop or the main, kill power to the area if water is near electrics, and move anything valuable out of the water path. For a suspected gas leak, leave the building, call the gas utility, then call us.

Where is my main water shut-off?

Usually where the service line enters the building - near the meter, on the front foundation wall, or in a basement or crawl space. Find it before you need it, and check it actually turns.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. Restaurants, offices, retail units, rentals and multi-family buildings, including grease line jetting, commercial water heaters, backflow testing and after-hours scheduling.

Will you tell me if a repair is not worth doing?

Yes. If a water heater is at the end of its life or a fixture is not worth another rebuild kit, we say so and give you both numbers to compare rather than selling you a repair that fails again.

Do you use a camera before sewer work?

Always, for anything beyond a simple cabling. You should never be asked to pay for excavation on the basis of a guess.

What areas do you cover?

All 269 cities and towns in Connecticut, listed on our service areas page. If your town is not listed, call and ask - we almost certainly still come to you.

Can you help with a water bill that suddenly jumped?

Yes. That is usually either a running toilet or a hidden leak. We test the meter, check every fixture, and use acoustic and thermal equipment to locate hidden losses.

Do you install tankless water heaters?

Yes, and we size them properly for Connecticut's cold winter groundwater rather than by fixture count alone. Undersized tankless units are the most common installation regret we get called out to fix.

What if the problem comes back?

Call us. We would rather return and get it right than have you pay someone else to redo it.
